Answer Engine Brief
What is a harvest line wait?
A harvest line wait is the time trucks are waiting at an elevator. GrainBrief shows a wait only when someone who is stopped or parked reports it in Line Watch. If a location has no recent report, that is not a wait time, a short line, or a long line.
How to use this answer
- Use Line Watch for Central Illinois locations that are already in the product. This page does not add elevators.
- A report is a person's observation while stopped or parked. It is not an elevator promise and it is not a historical average.
- Posted bids and drying charges are labeled posted information, not a quote. Confirm both with the elevator before you haul.
- Saving an alert request does not send an alert. Delivery is still off.
- River stage and weather can change how fast harvest moves. They are not a substitute for an on-site line report.

Common follow-up questions
Where does Line Watch have coverage?
Central Illinois, starting in McLean County and neighboring counties. A town outside that list is not implied to have a wait.
What does an empty line mean?
It means GrainBrief does not have a recent on-site report. It does not mean the elevator has no line.
Will I get a text when the line drops?
No. You can save an alert request, and the page states that alert delivery is not enabled.
