GrainBrief ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, organization, farm profile details, and purchase prices you enter), usage data (pages visited, features used), notification preferences, and billing data processed by Stripe. We do not sell your data to third parties.
If you use a GrainBrief demo account, pilot account, or free trial, we may track account activity such as login time, pages viewed, reports opened, alerts configured, and API usage. We use this to support onboarding, measure product engagement, improve the service, and follow up with relevant sales or support messages.
Your data powers your weekly scorecards and alert rules. We use aggregate, anonymized data to improve our signal engine. We do not share individual purchase price data outside your organization.
We use Google Analytics and privacy-safe first-party aggregate counters to understand public page visits and actions such as trial, sample brief, podcast, sharing, and app-store link clicks. The first-party analytics rows store only a date, an event category, and a total count; they do not store an email address, account ID, URL parameters, or search text. IP addresses may be held briefly in memory for abuse-rate limiting but are not written to analytics rows. An app-store link click is not treated as a confirmed app download or installation.
If you opt in, GrainBrief may use your notification preferences and a device push token to deliver in-app, email, or push alerts. You can change alert preferences in the app or device settings. Push tokens are used only to send GrainBrief alerts to the registered device. When Expo's notification delivery service is used, Expo processes the push token as our service provider. The native app may read precise location on your device to find nearby supported markets; raw coordinates are not sent to GrainBrief, while the regional market you select is sent so we can return localized information.
You can initiate deletion inside the GrainBrief app or on the account deletion page. Deletion cancels future subscription renewal, removes notification devices and preferences, deactivates access, and removes personal identifiers. Records required for billing, fraud prevention, security, tax, or legal obligations may remain in anonymized or legally required form.
GrainBrief also ingests public market, weather, freight, and economic datasets from public sources. Those datasets are separate from the private purchase records you enter into your account.
